Trying to operate in purpose when under attack can be one of the worse feelings. It’s definitely a tool of the devil to keep our focus off all of the good we are called to do in this world. It’s so easy to let our emotions get the best of us and to become even more paranoid about the attacker or threat.
Often times we are victims of our own choices that cause us to be placed in circumstances of difficulty or even tragedy.
This prayer invites the Holy Spirit to discern for you in any event, and to react with the gift of faith and trust instead of the emotions that eat away at your peace.
When you feel like you’re in a battle, God says, “Keep moving forward with intentional love & zeal in what I’ve called you to do. I got you.”

Romans 12:9-21
Dear Father God, Creator of my emotions, Author of my story,
Let my love be genuine. Help me to identify and abhor what is evil; and to hold fast to what is good.
Help me to choose zeal in all the good you’ve set for me to do, even when I feel lazy about intentionally being joyful in expectation as I labor. Turn my emotions to enthusiasm powered by your Holy Spirit.
Teach me to be fervent in spirit, and how best to serve you Lord.
May you remind me to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Direct me to contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
Guide me to rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
Teach me how to live in harmony with one another. Keep me from being haughty, but guide me to associate with the lowly. May I never be wise in my own sight, without your wisdom -it’s as if I have none.
Make it possible to allow me to the fullest extent of my God given abilities, live peaceably with all.
I am thankful, blessed and delighted YOU call me Beloved. May I never avenge myself but leave it as you’ve instructed to your wrath, God. For it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” That precious gift allows me to keep moving forward and not waste time on those who are contrite with me or desire to shoot me down.
Remind me and show me how to do the contrary of avenging myself, when you command me as it is written: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” I cannot do this on my own God, I invite you to overwhelm my soul with your love and compassion for those whose actions and intent are designed to hurt me.
May my soul and emotions align with your commands and not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good -according to your good grace and the with the power of the Holy Spirit.
I ask and proclaim in the mighty name of Jesus, my one true Savior,
Amen
