Battle Prayer Week

Praying to Heal Division

Here is a prayer to help my brothers and sisters in Christ wield into battle against things going on in our society that may or may not have a direct impact on our nice little daily lives but concerns something God is concerned about.

This week I’d like to invite you to pray this prayer…

Why? The devil is loving the division and hate that hot topics and social media poop stirrers are causing in our land. (Yes, I said poop! Call it what it is.) The thickness of the stench of the turmoil keeps our focus off of real solutions and away from where it needs to be. Division can be a diversion.

Father God,

As we face and fight the evilness of division, dissension, and the tactics of diversion, I stand on your promise that you are with us and we shall not fail.

As I pray for your goodness and mercy to cover our land with grace and compassion that brings righteousness and peace, I desire to see you move in ways that will bind us together to heal the divides so we may focus our efforts on building each other up and not tearing down.

I pray that you help us turn conflict into conversations.

You’re calling us down from the mountains, up from the valleys, out of the cities and fields to gather and stand as an army of love and kindness. Help us gather.

The world thinks it’s foolish that we could win a war against such strife with the ways of Christ. As I stand before you today Lord, I want you to know I am ready to be your fool. Thank you for going before me, beside me and behind me. Let’s do this!

Deuteronomy 20:1“When you go out to war against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and an army larger than your own, you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God is with you…

Ephesians 3:20Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.

Amen.
